How Do I Take Care Of My New Paint Job?

Allow your new paint to "cure" for at least 90 days before applying wax. Do not wash your car in the sun, the sun magnifies water drops, which can permanently damage your finish. Also, avoid brush-style car washes, as they can scratch your paint.

Use only detergents designed for automotive use, avoid dish or laundry detergents. Do not dry wipe your vehicle, the dust and dirt are abrasive and could scratch the finish. For at least 30 days avoid gravel road, chipping occurs more easily on fresh paint.

Wash your car often when exposed to salt and other ice-melting chemicals. Also, gasoline, bird droppings, tree sap, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, and windshield washer fluid can permanently damage your finish if they are not washed off immediately.

Professional car care products can be purchased from your service advisor.

CAR CARE TIPS

Everyone has a busy schedule and it's easy to forget regular scheduled maintenance on your car.  Keep track of maintenance on your vehicle by providing us with your e-mail address.  We will send you a reminder when service is due.  Each manufacturer has recommendations for frequency of oil changes.  As a general rule, we recommend every 3,000 miles.  Keeping your oil changed regularly substantially improves engine life and performance.  As a courtesy, when your vehicle is in our shop for repairs or routine maintenance, we will check your fluid levels, and check your vehicle over.  If we find items that need attention, we will let you know.
